Is your Bookkeeping Software Set Up Correctly?

Is your bookkeeping software set up for your business today? Whether you use QuickBooks, Xero, or another bookkeeping program, your setup should reflect how your business currently operates. If it hasn't been reviewed in a while, you may be missing out on features that could save you time or provide better financial insights.
Are your bank rules still working correctly? Automation is a wonderful tool, but it's only as good as the rules behind it. Reviewing your bank rules periodically helps ensure transactions are still being categorized accurately as your business changes.
Does your chart of accounts still make sense? Think of your chart of accounts as the filing system for your business finances. As your business grows, those categories should grow with it. A well-organized chart of accounts makes your financial reports easier to read and gives you a clearer picture of where your money is going.
Are your financial reports helping you make decisions? Your Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet should do more than sit in QuickBooks each month. They should help you understand how your business is performing, where you're spending money, and where opportunities for growth may exist.
