Tasha Schaedel
I’m the founder of Meticulous Bookkeeping and a professional bookkeeper for small businesses. I started MBK because I believe business owners deserve more than accurate books—they deserve financial information they understand, systems that make their lives easier, and support from someone who genuinely cares about their business.
My job is to take care of the details, keep your books accurate and organized, and help you understand what your numbers are telling you - so you have more time and better information to make the decisions that are right for you and your business.

My Background
I’ve spent most of my life working in and around family-owned businesses, so I understand that the numbers on a financial statement represent something much bigger. Behind them are real people, responsibilities, goals, and a lot of hard work.
That experience shaped the way I approach bookkeeping today: with attention to detail, practical organization, and an understanding of what it takes to keep a small business moving forward.
My Approach
Good bookkeeping starts with accuracy, but it shouldn’t end there. I believe in clear, timely communication, organized processes, and making your financial information easier to understand and use.
I also know that every business—and every business owner—is different. I take the time to understand what you need, what matters to you, and where you’re trying to go, then provide bookkeeping support that makes sense for your business.
Accuracy and organization matter, but so does the relationship behind the work. I want my clients to feel comfortable asking questions, understand what’s happening with their books, and know they have someone they can rely on.
When I'm not working with numbers, you'll usually find me spending time with family, enjoying the communities around Wauconda and the Fox Lake Chain O'Lakes, or finding something new to learn.
